The article about Mercury System (and the other Piedmontese projects selected for Maker Faire Rome 2016) published on the online issue of the italian newspaper “La Repubblica” (Click on Link Below).
I’m working quite hard in this period in order to expand the Mercury System Board Set, in order to have 15-20 devices on the basket at the beginning. This should guarantee a wider application target range for the users of the system. Below a 3D representation of a newely developed expansion dual + alphanumeric 16×2 display.
The Mercuy System is more than a tool to develop IoT applications, and it could be easily extended to any general purpose embedded project. Here is a video of a proximity lock developed using a BB01, an ultrasonic and a relay SB (plus an expansion quand and the development framework).
This device could be used as electronic lock with contactless activation or similar applications. Done this morning in a couple of minutes, exploiting the potentiality of the framework 🙂

In both of this two examples I used Flowcode for the implementation of the embedded side application logic and dweet.io as intermediate server. The overall architecture could be easily applied to a lot of IoT applications.
Look at this demo of our nice Intrusion Detector made using Mercury System:
It took more or less a couple of hour to develop it using the PIC18 BB, the GSM/GPRS MB, an Ultrasonic Sensor SB and the Expansion board Dual (and the development framework, obviously…).

With Mercury System you can easily create IoT applications without struggeling with HW and Low Level Embedded SW details, and focusing on business logic only.
